Re: buzzing noise in the background
It's possible you're recording more than one pathway and the delay is causing damage. This is the wiki page for recording computer audio. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Recording_audio_playing_on_the_computer Note that only Mix-Out or Stereo Mix should be selected. Nothing else. If you like to us...

Re: Hum removal plug-in
<<<It really is necessary to remove all the harmonics, odd and even , right up to half the nyquist frequency.>>> Right. This is one of those "you can't really do this" tools. Particularly with buzz, by the time you get rid of it all, there's a great many little frequency notches in the sho...

Re: External Spound System

When you have the right music and the order of the songs is OK, then burn. You cannot go over 99 songs or 80 minu...

Re: Help Using External Microphone
It is something of an odd duck. The audio connector is standard, but the signals on it are not. So the short answer is that it's a very nice stereo microphone, no computer I know can accept the signals on the plug. Sony products are probably just fine with it. It's possible you might be able to forc...

Re: Help Using External Microphone
<<<Well, I am not at all tech-savvy, so I apologize for my ignorance in advance.>>> s'OK. Half the fun of doing this is to zoom into poster's problem in as few steps as possible. What kind of microphone do you have? We live on picky details. Does it have a web site? Model number? Pretend I want to b...

Re: New Vinyl Getting Skips
Forgot the summary. You can buy an Integrated Amplifier with everything but the MicPre built-in. Those are the large units usually with a radio tuner. They have two big knobs, one to tune the radio and one to set the volume. Modern ones come with a remote that nobody will ever figure out. I know som...

Re: Help Using External Microphone
A common problem on the forum is someone posting with "the same problem" and it's not. Do you have a USB microphone? Did you plug it into the side of your MacBook with the broad flat connector? Did the microphone lights come on? Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Input. Make s...

Re: Under-records... or distorts
My sister has a Line-Out on her music system that isn't worth anything, so that, at least, isn't much of a surprise. The headphone thing should have worked. You can easily make up the difference between the low capture and normal level with Edit > Select > All, and then Effect > Amplify > OK. While ...
