Re: Record Voicemail to PC
First things first. Can you play music on the phone into your headphones? Plug the new interconnection cable in place of the headphones and into the computer. Can you capture the music in Audacity? Re: "Failed to get file statistics"
Are you trying to put a date or punctuation marks in your file names? That can drive computers nuts. Stick to upper and lower case letters, numbers, dash, and underscore.
I write dates in international form: 20100331. March thirty-first.

Re: Odd distortion

<<<HD has 60GB space and was verified/logs cleared recently but will do again.>>>
Two numbers. The rating of the drive and free space.
Where is the drive? Internal? External FireWire? Live audio (and video) do not get along at all with external USB drives.

I still have my working pair of HD 414s. http://www.stereophile.com/features/709/index2.html# http://www.gramophone.net/Issue/Page/March%201985/114/847604 One of the producers in the Commercial Division is still using his Hafler DH-200 amplifier. I think you only do that if you're already subscribed to the paper magazine. The PDF download, however is certainly reasonable. I'll buy it for you if you're out of money.

What happened when you ran Verify Disk? That's the important one. Go > Computer. Control-Click on the drive > Get Info. How much room does the drive have and how much is left? Go > Utilities > Terminal You type the blue pieces. [enter] means press the enter key. If you haven't ever done this, it mak...

Re: buzzing noise in the background
That's it. This one is rough because of the congregation reaffirmation in the background. Get too aggressive and there goes the quiet voices. <<<They got a powerful lot of other problems there>>> I had no idea. I tried to leave a message on their web site and their on-line messaging program crashed....

<<<If you use Audacity 1.3 and you set "View menu > Show Clipping", and then amplify to 0dB, the place(s) where the waveform touches +/- 0dB will be indicated by a red vertical line.>>> Since "0" is a valid number, I thought they turned red if the samples exceeded 0. Koz
