Re: Hum When Using Audacity

<<<When I record directly to my laptop using Audacity>>>

You're singing or speaking directly into the laptop microphone, right? It's important we know exactly what the show is.

Re: MP3 Bit Rate

That's correct . Audacity 1.3 lets you set it individually for each export at the export step.

Re: 3.5mm mic's into mixer output to pc?

Here's all the pieces you need for a single channel. The missing parts are the cable to the computer and the computer itself. MicPowerSupply1.jpg This is the same thing put together. This mixer will handle four microphones. MicPowerSupply2.jpg Here's an explosion of the power supply. MicPowerSupply3...

Re: Deleting saved projects

Do you remember where Audacity was going to stash your show before you changed it to Desktop?

Close everything.

File > FInd > audacity. In the two white text bubbles, change to "kind is folder."

That should point you to all the audacity folders on your Mac.

Re: Deleting saved projects

Close everything.

Go > Applications > Audacity > scroll down until you see your show files and pull them to the trash. DO NOT touch any other files in that folder.

That may not be strictly accurate. See how close I came.

Re: windows to mac - files?

Do you want us to try and figure out why your existing computer is struggling? That may be far easier than trying to move your shows. The short answer is the WAV format. Audacity defaults to File> Export > WAV because those files will open up in all three types of computer. You can do that with MP3 ...

Re: 3.5mm mic's into mixer output to pc?

<<<My version works but it also picks up my noisy, noisy recording environments>>> That's part of the fun of doing this. You can't record any of this in a boiler factory or a bus station. That's where the noise canceling headset microphones shine. That's why I didn't say the words "the headphon...

Re: Using Audacity to Find Orirgin of Sounds

You can do it with three hydrophones and a very talented calculator and the numbers you get from Audacity inspecting the phase differences between the hydrophones. If you only have one hydrophone, then it's enormously harder, maybe can't be done. The swimming pool will kill you because of wall echoe...
