Do you remember where Audacity was going to stash your show before you changed it to Desktop?

Close everything.

File > FInd > audacity. In the two white text bubbles, change to "kind is folder."

That should point you to all the audacity folders on your Mac.

Go > Applications > Audacity > scroll down until you see your show files and pull them to the trash. DO NOT touch any other files in that folder.

That may not be strictly accurate. See how close I came.

Do you want us to try and figure out why your existing computer is struggling? That may be far easier than trying to move your shows. The short answer is the WAV format.
