I could do that, but when do you need it? We're trying to push a medium size corporation into a new building. The weekend coming up will be a vague concept for me, not actual time off.

Re: Cant get mac osx to "hear" what I'm trying to record
Close Audacity Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Input. Can you see the USB turntable or the USB chipset number listed there? Sometimes it's a series of numbers that don't make sense, but they're different from the other clear English items like "Built In Microphone," etc. If...

Re: I need help!!!
Windows? Recording a phone call looks like it should be easy. It's not.
So yes. Post a little of it with some of your voice and some of the caller. If you know where the built-in microphone of your laptop is, you can park the iPhone right next to it and do remarkably well.

Re: 3.5mm mic's into mixer output to pc?
MicPowerSupply.jpg MicAmpCircuit.jpg What I'll probably do if you get that far is build one completely without the box and take a picture. Note this one has an XLR3 at the end of the cable and plugs straight into a microphone mixer. No adapter. Also, there's no power switch on this one. You turn it...

Before you post, give us a head start. Windows? Which One? Laptop? Which version of Audacity exactly?

Re: Posting Sound
I'm working this back. Piano2.wav is 1.2MB. It's six seconds at 16-bit. Stereo, 48000. What does it drop to if someone posts 32-bit floating? We're always juggling between swamping the forum versus getting the posters to provide enough material in uncompressed form so we can chew on it. Is, like, ma...

<<<Someone said that the signal needs to be amplified before it goes into the iMac. >>> Not with a USB turntable. Those have everything built-in. You see the blue ball sound meter in System Preferences bounce when you play a record, right? So you got it that far. Open Audacity > Preferences > Audio ...
