Re: How do I get rid of the static or white noise?
<<<we don't know how to get rid of it without screwing up the song itself>>> Neither do we. As talented as the noise reduction tools are, the music at the end is always going to sound a little "funny" compared to the original performance. The noise tools in Audacity 1.2 are tragic compared...

Re: Recording in Audacity
<<<recording with my midi controller>>> You'll need to get a lot more detail into this. The last time I used a MIDI system, it was made out of rocks and branches and ran from natural gas. Is this a program running on your computer, or a separate physical device? Apple always has fancy-pants names fo...

Re: Cant get mac osx to "hear" what I'm trying to record
So that's the end of computer capture. If the Mac can't see the USB turntable and its sound, Audacity will never see it. Some of these turntables have a switch on the bottom or back where they will send analog Line-Level out the RCA cables, or they will send the phonograph cartridge signal out those...

<<<yes I can see the turntable in the sound config/panel, it comes up as: "USB PnP Audio device" and also in the system profiler >hardware >USB.>>> Ok, don't ride off in all directions. Stick with the System Preferences panel. There is a series of blue balls at the lower portion of the pan...

Re: Recording Two Inputs Simultaneously?
Normally no. Audacity records from one sound device and each microphone counts as one device. There is such a thing as Aggregate Device which will let you record two items. That's the Google search. I don't know any more about it than that, but that may be your only hope. Normally any microphones ov...

Re: 3.5mm mic's into mixer output to pc?
As a "from scratch" construction project, I think the box and interconnect cables are the main place to get your self into difficulties, not the circuit board. I was going to knock the board out in one evening. I'm having flashbacks to an audio adapter I did where the maker of the cable re...

<<<(and we have better food :P hehe)>>> Oh, but we have much better crappy food than you do. There is an In And Out Burger in the approach to LAX runway 24-Right. In the approach. You can wave at the pilots from your table. They have a food item called Animal Style Fries. http://www.seriouseats.com/...

Re: USB Keyboard not recognised
You had me going there. Your muscial keyboard. MIDI/USB control doesn't carry sound. It just presses the keys. The sound has to be carried over separate cables and applied to your recorder (computer). You can use the Headphone Output of the keyboard through adapters. That's what I do. Most Macs and ...

Re: I need help!!!
The tools only work really well once. If you have no unprocessed original work and the only material you have is already damaged by bad application of the tools, that's pretty much the end of the story. We can't recover from that. <<<I managed to recover most of the audio.>>> What happened to that s...
