Re: Intel .aup incompatible with PPC ?
The last unconditionally stable operating system for a G5 was Tiger OS-X 10.4.11. Editing people all over noticed problems when they tried to cross Leopard and PPC. Leopard and Snow Leopard are optimized for Intel. You can force the cross to work, but it's not optimal. You could try Audacity 1.3.12....

<<<My Vocal Sound is skipping when I play it back>>> Does it always skip in the same place? If each time you play it, it skips in a different place, then you have a correct recording, you just can't play it. What else is your computer doing? Shut down all other applications and you might disconnect ...

Re: Stereo mix problems
I think the current Windows will only let you record from one device at a time and each of those counts as a device. The Real Windows people will show up and flesh that out a little, but I believe that's the problem. You can't record your cassette machine via Line-In and Mic-In at the same time, eit...

Re: Cleaning up recording
This microphone has switchable patterns. The idea is to put a peak in the direction of the performer and a dip in the direction of the echoes. The more extreme the pattern, the worse the sound. It keeps snapping you back to having a good room to begin with. Cleaning up a bad recording is always mess...

Re: Audacity Crashed. Recover was done but need more help.
It's a little rough to crash a Mac, so maybe it had a little help.

Froze or vanished?
How long (in time) was the recording? Did you try to record 55 minutes?

Re: how do I calculate the frequency with audacity?
Open the music in a Project. Select each note. Analyze > Spectrum. Usually the farthest to the left and largest peak is the fundamental tone. G1 in this case. Read frequencies from the panel on the bottom. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/piano_G1.jpg That's one note from my famous piano solo here... ...

Re: Can hear my voice, but not callers!
I'm betting you can't connect this thing to a Windows Laptop. They don't come right out and say so, but they suggest very, very strongly that you need a stereo recorder to capture the whole conversation. Mic-In on a Windows Laptop is mono not stereo. So you need to run right out and buy a Mac or a l...
