The last unconditionally stable operating system for a G5 was Tiger OS-X 10.4.11. Editing people all over noticed problems when they tried to cross Leopard and PPC. It's a little rough to crash a Mac, so maybe it had a little help.

Close everything down to a desktop. Go > Computer > Control-Click your System Drive > Get Info.

How long (in time) was the recording? Did you try to record 55 minutes?

Open the music in a Project. Select each note. Analyze > Spectrum. Usually the farthest to the left and largest peak is the fundamental tone. G1 in this case.
