Chains is very basic and everything included has to be custom programmed. If it isn't in the list, then it's not available.

Re: Deep subs
That's what I meant by "force it to work." The stop on my keyboard is already musical, mixed, and produced. In the middle registers instead of low, it sounds like a Super Mario Brothers game track. In the high registers, it scares the cat and can crack glass. The wave generator will have t...

Re: ?stereo to mono, keeping the highs from each side?
Maybe we should inspect your words. "Muffled" in my mind means the volume is OK, but the sharpness, sparkle and crispness is damaged or missing. You appear to be using the word to mean the performer's volume decreased. If the latter is the case, then you might be a candidate for Chris. Chr...

Re: Playing audio files
That's what Audacity does when it encounters a sound file it doesn't understand. I bet if you downloaded and played this short sound file, it would work just fine... http://www.kozco.com/tech/piano2.wav You can try to convert your music to WAV files and then those will open in Audacity. http://www.f...

Re: Is there a way to remove robot-like echo from voice?
That's not noise. That's the echo cancellation trying to suppress an extreme delay in that branch of the conversation...and failing. There might even be a little compression junk in there. There is a real problem with communications like this that the person who sounds like garbage can't tell unless...

Re: Deep subs
There's a sawtooth setting for Generate > Tone. You might be able to force that to work. It's in Audacity 1.3.12.

Re: Deep subs
<<<(something electronic.. synth?)>>> I have a stop on my Yamaha keyboard that will do that. It's called "Saw Lead." Play it way down on the bottom of the keyboard and mix into the rest of the track. My keyboard has that silly rocker on the left that can change pitch of the instrument. You...

Re: S.O.S. Opens once Doesnt open teh next time!?
Macs can do odd things like this if you used messy characters in your filename or meta-data text entry boxes. Did you save the show with a date? PolySci101-4/9/10.wav? That will drive Audacity nuts. you can't use slash marks inside a filename. Upper and lower case letters, numbers, underscore, and d...

<<<OS - Max OS X 10.6.3 on a Mini-Mac >>> Can I assume an Intel Mac Mini? Actually, it's been dead for a while. Modern Macs do not support Audacity 1.2. http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_mac Audacity 1.3.12 is the current master at stable operation cross-platform. If your new Audacity is unstabl...

Re: Distortion Effect
<<<Is there a way to recover the effect from the saved sound files?>>>
No because there's more than one way to achieve an effect. You can get a pretty good distortion effect with Effect > Leveler. Pick an aggressive setting and apply it more than once.
