Re: Tape2PC with Audacity on Mac
Two possible problems. Are you on an Intel Mac with OS-X 10.5 or 10.6? (Apple > About This Computer). If you are, you lucky dog, you have the wrong Audacity. Intel Macs under Leopard or Snow Leopard do not support Audacity 1.2. http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_mac If you make it past that, clos...

Re: Not getting all tracks to play on CD
No. That happens to me, too. The icon associated with the music can be changed in Mac Finder tools. I would love to tell you I'm going to wave my wand and cure everything, but in reality, I'm going to turn this into a bookkeeping exercise. Boooooring. Take good notes. Open up one of the "bad&qu...

Keep backing up.
<<<I've exported multiple tracks, saved as .wav>>>
If you re-open those in Audacity, so they all play? Or better still, open each one in QuickTime Player.

Re: error: reference to invalid character number at line 9
I bet the system hates all those slash marks [/]. This is what kills people when they try to put dates in a name. And it goes on. I would stay away from punctuation marks. [&] [#]. 2009 Dirtee Stank Recordings"/> Oh, and if you're on a modern Intel Mac with Leopard or Snow Leopa...

Re: Recording - prevent new tracks everytime i hit record
In Audacity 1.3, you can press Shift-R to get "Append Record" to add stuff to an existing track. You can create a new "end" by selecting everything wrong and delete.

Re: Help please with Audacity/AV sound files
I'm not actually expecting this to work, but television sound is 48000, 16-bit, Stereo. Not 44100.
Does it work if you use a WAV file instead of MP3?

<<<any reason why this worked fine on the old laptop but not the new one? difference in soundcard. >>> Pretty much. In general the high level stereo signal from a mixer or CD player or cassette machine is much too hot or high volume to plug into a connection expecting a tiny, wispy, delicate mono mi...
