Re: Error message when pressing record.
<<<its just happened since a rebooted it all>>> You didn't reboot it. You reinstalled it all. Big difference. Rebooting doesn't affect this problem. Go into Audacity Preferences (in Windows: Edit > Preferences) and set or reset them for Stereo (not mono), 44100, and 16-bit (not 32-floating). Restart...

Re: Error message when pressing record.
It means you get to tell us more about the show. Where is the mix coming from? Do you have two turntables and a mixer plugged into your computer? How? USB? Analog audio cables?
That's what Audacity is having trouble connecting to.

Some newer computers make it very difficult to record internal audio, but give it a shot.

Re: Professional Sound
Is there any way for you to post the pre-mixdown tracks? The trick is you can't use MP3 because that creates problems and distortions. You can post very short segments here, but that won't handle a three minute song. It might be fun for the forum elves to have a crack at mixing it. Where are you? Koz

Re: Professional Sound
I think I'd start by having somebody else mix your music. This will be the third time I've advised a vocal performer who produced a mix that was "missing something." It was perfectly obvious to me what was wrong -- I remixed to make the vocal louder. Compression had nothing to do with it. ...

Re: Error Message
I bet it didn't like what you called your project. Stick with "safe" file characters. Upper and lower case letters, numbers, dash and underscore. I'm not sure how to open up a project already orphaned with a bad filename. Make protection copies of both the AUP file and the _DATA folder ont...

Re: No longer able to import mp3
Intel Macs under Leopard or Snow Leopard do not support Audacity 1.2. Download and install Audacity 1.3.12 from here. http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_mac You may need to pull down fresh versions of your plugins as well. Older plugins don't always work well with more modern Audacity versions. Koz

When most people say that, they mean recording from the internet like YouTube. Is that what you're doing?
