Re: Error Message
I don't know. It certainly shouldn't be inside a project name or a filename.
And in case I missed it. Intel Macs running Leopard or Snow Leopard do not support Audacity 1.2. Upgrade to Audacity 1.3.12.

Re: AVS Media "demo" software inserts voice over
There's been no shortage of problems with AVS software. They used to insert their download and installer so it looked like you were installing Audacity.

Sure. You can open your drum track and then Import the same track again and get two tracks one above the other. Then copy and paste from one to the other where you want.
All these tricks are much easier in Audacity 1.3.12.

Re: Error message when pressing record.
<<<Other USB's are working fine, and Behringer device was working fine before i reinstalled everything on my laptop?>>>
That's not exactly what I asked. Have you tried the Behringer in more than one socket?
Why did you have to reconstruct your machine?

Re: Advice needed re. peaking levels
Set everything in the middle and make sure the controls are even. You know you have a bad left/right balance and everything is too hot. Re: Error message when pressing record.
This is beginning to get scary. The base Behringer should have worked out of the box, drivers or no. It's not a complicated device.
Have you tried other USB connections on the machine?

Re: Advice needed re. peaking levels
There is another panel sometimes used to set levels.
From the desktop:

I don't remember which ones are supervisory -- that take priority.

Re: Error message when pressing record.
<<<normal laptop,>>> Wouldn't want any of those abnormal laptops. You posted in a section of the forum that made it not entirely clear what kind of computer you have. If you need to do this again, please post in the Windows section. Do you get the USB mounting dialog on the desktop when you plug the...

Re: Error message when pressing record.
Close Audacity.
Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Input.
Is your UCA202 or "USB Sound Device" or something like that listed there? Is it selected? If you make music, does the blue ball sound meter jump?
