Re: help :( can only record in mono
Mic-In on most Windows laptop computers is the only analog connection the machine has. It's mono. There are also distortion problems with using this connection for a show other than a microphone. Most people stuck with this problem pop for a Stereo USB sound card like the UCA202. http://forum.audaci...

Re: Inserting new audio files in existing recording
I hope to goodness you're in Audacity 1.3.12. Earlier Audacity versions make some of these jobs really awkward. Open up both songs -- in two different windows of Audacity if you need to. Copy from one and paste into the other. A fine variation is start a new timeline in the "finished" show...

Re: Saving Audacity Data Files
<<<of course if you keep the vinyl you might be able to redigitise them if you want to use all that time up again>>> Which is getting more and more difficult to do well. The USB turntables on the market now are pretty poor players and those of us with full-on turntables and preamps are getting scarc...

Re: Eliminating dropouts
Behold the problem of posting in a generic forum.
Which Audacity are you using? I think the silence and sound finders in Audacity 1.3.12 may have such tuning tools.

Re: I Need help in moving multiple sound files at once!
Audacity 1.3 hadn't been "beta" experimental/unstable for a long time. If you're on a newer Mac, Audacity 1.2 doesn't work at all. We have no choice.
