Re: HOW DO I EXTRACT AUDIO FROM A DVD?
You might follow the instructions for recording internet audio or audio on the computer. They all do the same thing and fold the record and playback into each other so you can capture forbidden sound. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Recording_audio_playing_on_the_computer Remember to turn all that...

Re: DBX 120x for your voice
I did notice one other thing while I was recording the dbx machine raw. I don't think they bother to filter out the higher harmonics. The recording I got is seriously unstable. Sometimes it plays cleanly and sometimes with terrible distortion. If I do a spectrum analysis, some of the energy goes up ...

Re: Input Volume Drops after 15-40 seconds
<<<I have attached an example, where the volume drops while a student is mid sentance. Example.mp3 (950.74 KiB) Downloaded 2 times>>> The performer is way too low a volume compared to the air conditioning noise in the room. The computer thinks the performer is part of the room noise and subdues it o...

Re: Input Volume Drops after 15-40 seconds
I have this microphone... http://www.logitech.com/en-us/webcam_communications/microphones/devices/221 Terrific microphone, slightly honky if you record from too far away, but has very nice acoustic "room" noise cancellation (vents on the side of the pickup tube to admit error sound waves) ...

Re: FM radio capture / line noise
<<<my old fm receivers are still 100% noise free on stereo>>> I doubt that. Stereo FM transmissions have about a 20dB noise hit or worse compared to mono broadcasting and it doesn't matter what city you're in. They way they engineered stereo broadcasting just does that. Stereo broadcasting is automa...

Re: FM radio capture / line noise
Broadcast Digital Television is MPEG2. MPEG2 was designed to transmit high definition television into your home with the least damage. It's still the best way to watch "CSI." Both Cable and Satellite transmission restrict the quality of the picture in order to get as many different shows i...

Re: FM radio capture / line noise
Does the USB device get its power from the computer? It's unfortunate that the fashion is to have everything run from the power in the USB port and it's not unusual for that power to be noisy. Sometimes you can get around problems like this by running the signal through a USB hub that gets its power...

Purchased iTunes music may have FairPlay copy protection. Create a playlist and burn the playlist to a CD. Then change the iTunes preferences to WAV and import the CD.

Re: DBX 120x for your voice
OK, well. The results are in and they're about what I would expect had I thought about it for any amount of time. Far from making me sound like A Famous Announcer, it made me sound like Koz with a truck going by -- and you could only hear it if your speakers went down that low. All that and the effe...

Re: DBX 120x for your voice
Exactly correct. I have a brochure where they claim "dbx Disco Products." And yes, it's never quite perfect because of the delays. Actual 16' diapason or flute pedals are played slightly ahead to give the Diesel generators behind the loft time to crank up. Sub Bass generators can never ach...
