Re: waveform no waveform

I want to tell you that Exporting a sound file after alive capture recording is exactly how I do it. You might consider Saving a Project and Exporting a sound file both for a while to make sure we buried the problem. Audacity is much less likely to lose both.

Re: waveform no waveform

Intel Macs under Leopard have a shaky relationship with Audacity 1.2.5 and by the time you get to Snow Leopard, Audacity 1.2.5 is no longer recommended. Upgrade to Audacity 1.3.12 from here... http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_mac You can safely install both versions, but only use one at a time....

Re: Cannot save, export or play recording

There is a Crash Recovery package.

Crash Recovery

We suggest, sometimes strongly, that Audacity 1.2 isn't up to working with modern operating systems. Try Audacity 1.3.12.

What exactly did you call the exported files? You shouldn't use dates in your filenames or any other punctuation. Upper and lower case letters, numbers, underscore and dash only.

Re: iTunes losing tracks

<<<I have Windows Vista and Audacity 1.3.11 Beta (which, I have to say, is absolutely wonderful!)>>>

Wait. You're on Vista? Have you done a thorough virus scan? It's still a really bad idea to fill up your hard drive except I don't know how to check that in Vista.

Re: iTunes losing tracks

Sudden Computer Insanity can be caused by your hard drive filling up. Go > Computer > Control-Click on the System Drive and Get INFO. I start worrying when my system drive is over half full. It should never, ever be over 90% full. Have you done all the system tricks? Repair Permissions, Verify Disk,...

Re: waveform no waveform

<<<Created a waveform and everything while recording.>>> <<<Now the WAV file has no waveform>>> <<<I'm guessing it's some sort of problem with the file itself (not the audio)>>> The waveform is a secondary production and in a healthy Audacity is taken from the sound. No show, no waveform, not the ot...

Re: Lame causng noise

MP3 compression always causes some sound damage and the smaller the files you need, the worse the damage. Try to increase the MP3 bitrate number in Audacity Preferences, restart Audacity, and try to export another MP3 of the show. If you used MP3 music in your show, this could be interesting. Trying...

Re: Help! Some effects plugins creating silence

Which version of Audacity are you using? Modern Macs do not support Audacity 1.2.
