Nor has anyone else. Audacity will only record from one Sound Device -- generally one stereo track. There were people who managed to record multiple tracks, but they did it with special hardware and software drivers. I'll see if I can find the posting.

Re: Bug in Amplify effect (1.3.5 and 1.3.7)
It's only a bug after thousands of people notice it. Not before.
The earlier 1.3 versions all had more or less serious problems. The current 1.3.12 is remarkably stable and you should try that.

Re: specifying 2 different types of signals in 1 stereo trac
There's not quite enough here to nail down a solution. Leave the scientific machine off and disconnected. Plug the microphone into one Edirol connection and leave the other unconnected. Make a brief voice recording and then stop talking and then stop the recording. Export as a stereo WAV file. Now d...

Re: sound cancellation
ElectroVoice once had a technique where they would tie two of their 635A microphones together head to head with heavy packing tape and cross the microphone cable wires. http://www.electrovoice.com/product.php?id=100 You could use the combination as a noise-canceling microphone by closely talking onl...

Re: audacity 1.2 or beta unicode ??
For almost all users, the current version 1.3.12 is best. Version 1.2 is having more and more problems dealing with modern operating systems.

Re: After using Audacity all sound on my Mac has gone
Cool. Now we're going to solve a problem you didn't know you had. Modern Macs do not support Audacity 1.2. Sooner or later, the software is going to do something messy and damage your show. Install Audacity 1.3.12 from here... http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_mac You can have both versions on y...

Re: Podcasting: Fan Noise
The Audacity Noise Reduction and other tools only work on very specific noises and even when they do work, they sometimes damage the quality of the show. Far better to not record the noises in the first place. What kind of USB microphone do you have? Can you get closer? http://kozco.com/tech/audacit...

Here it is... http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379 A note: How long is your battery life? Do you have your screen upper banner show you battery time? My Mac is over three years old and I still have almost five hours of battery time left after a full charge. A "funny" or defective battery is ...

Re: After using Audacity all sound on my Mac has gone
<<<I have a macbook pro running OSX 10.5.8.>>> So do I. That's what I'm typing on. <<<Any ideas?>>> That's scary. It's almost like the Mac "forgot" its internal hardware configuration. Neither Skype nor Audacity can change the hardware services in a Mac. You did try restarting the Mac, rig...
