Filter Success = Sound Format Quality?

Sooner or later everybody finds that pitch change software never does what you want. Not only will it not change a Network Radio Presenter into a four-foot tall woman (we get that one every day) but it doesn't even do relatively modest pitch changes without obvious damage. I wonder... I propose that...

Re: Podcasting: Fan Noise

<<<In that case there's not much you can do about it...>>> No, but I'm not giving up yet. While you're recording, stop talking and get friends to hold up a heavy blanket between you and the computer. Stop the recording and listen to it critically with headphones. Did the noise get muffled or quieter...

Re: Podcasting: Fan Noise

<<<while still not telling me I'm crazy for trying this on my limited budget and even more limited skill set!>>> Would you like us to tell you that? You're actually one of the more sane posters, but I can tell you what will kill you later. You can only express your creativity just so much on a limit...

Re: Having Problems Importing into iTunes

The question is why you created an MP4 in the beginning. iTunes will happily import a WAV or an AIFF file and create a lovely Apple AAC file for all your Apple products. If you saved your Audacity Project, then you can re-Export the work as a WAV and use that. Change iTunes CD Import Preferences to ...

Multi, multi channel

Without appearing any denser than normal, that one multi-channel sound device with the old drivers listed in the hardware posting is the only way to record more than two tracks at once, yes?

Re: Really basic GUI question

I always used to think that. The bouncing ball sound meter does that, there are two colors, one a lot slower than the other, but I think the waveform is the waveform. Wavy lines that follow the sound data. I guess this could be a Mac thing. But once I zoom far enough in to eliminate graphics clumpin...

Re: Really basic GUI question

They represent a graphic anomaly on your computer screen. They come and go with the amount of magnification and the size of your screen. Drag-select some of the timeline and magnify with Control-E (or Command-E). No more dual colors.
