Re: Background hummng

<<<I turned the mic volume right down and it helps a bit>>> A bit? If you kill the microphone volume control the hum and your voice should go to zero. If it doesn't, you may have something wrong with your computer or USB connections. Have you tried different USB connections? Are you going through a ...

Re: need to remove transvestite sound from my voice

Re: need to remove transvestite sound from my voice

<<<I cannot have these silly sounds because I will be doing professionall video tutorials, using my voice and CamStudio, a screen capture recorder.>>> Or maybe you won't. Microphones and capture systems -- even the cheap ones -- aren't in the habit of making someone's voice much different from what ...

Re: Filter Success = Sound Format Quality?

<<<See here:>>> I would have been happier with a human voice recorded live at various sample rates and bit depths. You can hide piano damage, but anyone can tell that there's something wrong with a voice. I wonder if there's anything wrong with a Master Voice Clip at very high quality and downsampli...

Re: 1.2.6 noise removal superior to 1.3.6 ??

Aren't we doing a lot of the work a computer is supposed to be doing? 1. Select a noise profile. 2. Set the amount of distortion you're willing to accept in the final show. 3. Go. The software tries all the possible combinations of all the tools and variables and selects the best parameters that ach...

Re: New Toshiba - won't record except thru mic

Capturing on-line audio can be interesting because, well, without putting too fine a point on it, why would you want that? Oh, to steal music or on-line performances? Remember, Windows machines are corporate business computers and corporate businesses aren't particularly interested in you stealing m...

Re: Strange problem with Audacity

I'm assuming you're using Audacity 1.3.12. Earlier Audacity versions had problems.

Make a recording and press stop. Effects > Amplify > OK.

That will boost the volume of your show the maximum possible without creating damage.

Re: New Toshiba - won't record except thru mic

<<<There's GOT to be a way around this!!!>>> No, there doesn't. Different versions of Windows lock out or enhance different functions depending on who they think their target audience is. Most Windows machines are business computers. Even Microsoft gave up telling everybody they're "Entertainme...
