Re: Podcasting: Fan Noise

<<<i dont move around the room >>> It doesn't take that much movement. If you have a fixed desk microphone and you look down at a script or some notes, the volume of the performance will change. You can get significant volume changes if you turn your head. Not so with the headset. Koz

Re: Whispered voices

<<<better to whisper initially when you record >>> <<<how can I transform a normal voice>>> What most people really mean by that is "normal voice I downloaded from the internet." There is no local record or they would have recorded the whisper in the first place. Koz

Re: need to remove transvestite sound from my voice

I wonder if the sound technician survived the experience (ouch!).

Still waiting for that sound clip.
Hint: We all frown on posting MP3 clips because of damage reasons, but you can use Audacity to post a FLAC file which has gentle compression, small file sizes, and no damage.

Re: Help needed exporting multiple files to MP3 at once

Then I think you're stuck. We had a fighting chance with the Auto Chop feature (which I still can't find, but I think it exists). The only other possibility is clever use of the Silent Sense tool, but those are notoriously inaccurate and fail completely if the speaker or performer doesn't pause long...

Re: Help needed exporting multiple files to MP3 at once

<<<I want to divide this file into 40 or so smaller MP3 files.>>>

Is there anything critical about the start and stop points of the MP3s? Vocal cues? Can you use a way to evenly divide up the show and export?

Re: Waveform doesn't always show - what am I doing wrong?

Where did you get the show from? Is this you playing the guitar and singing in front of a microphone?

Re: Capturing sound using HeadSET - Skype headset

There is one other possibility here. The poster could be trying to record both sides of a Skype call. Pamela Professional and Business can do that (not the other two) and I think Total Recorder can do that as well.

Re: Capturing sound using HeadSET - Skype headset

<<<Capturing sound using Headphone speakers.>>> In other words, capture the music I hear on my headphones -- also known as Mix-Out. Sometimes you have to translate what the poster wrote into what they really want. It's still possible we're all totally missing the boat, but I don't think so. The post...

He's the furry, powerful looking one? <<<Thanks, here is an update of the correct file format>>> I don't see any file at all. Preview your work to make sure it posted. The Hollywood group really wants to hear this now. Part o...

Re: Cut MB from 36 to under 25 to enable email

MP3 and other compressed format damage is sneaky. You can slide into low bit rate damage before you ever realize you're doing it. This was intentional. At extremes, a highly compressed show will sound honky (speaking through a megaphone) gargly and bubbly. Sometimes like a bad cellphone call and for...
