Re: Batch processing files
You may not need the equalizer for that. You are, with a great deal of effort, just making the show louder and you can do that in one step with Effect > Amplify > OK. However, you can really make the shows louder and more "dense" with a compressor like Chris's Compressor. Chris's Compresso...

Re: Multi, multi channel
Correct me, but haven't some of them appeared in postings from people not able to make them work? Not gettin' my warm and fuzzy here. I'm totally in favor of the FireWire device for the obvious reasons, but the Windows Laptop people may not be so happy. <<<bottomless pit not required >>> I work in a...

Re: Capturing sound using Headset with "What U Hear"
I would stop editing old posts. We depend on a linear presentaion of the problem through the thread and the possible solutions in the order of time. Having to go back to Page One Chapter One to manage the problem is very time consuming and wasteful particularly given the length of the thread. I acci...

Re: Capturing sound using Headset with "What U Hear"
<<<Edit: None of you have helped in ANY way.>>> But it's not for lack of trying. Sometimes when we don't know what's causing the problem, we'll bounce ideas back and forth between us. Yes, this can get awkward across multiple time zones. We can only go with the English words that appear in the quest...

It's rough to affect all of those differently. How do you know the character of the damage?

Re: Help to fix an audio file?
Cellphones negotiating a connection of any sort can interfere with sound production. I was doing a simple voice capture and no matter what, I got odd sounds mixed in with the voice, and we were in an electrically quiet room. "Where," I said, "is your cellphone?" I didn't have min...

Re: Recording speed
You can't overcrank Audacity. The best you an do is straight effects and the Change tools like pitch and speed. Even if you could overcrank Audacity, you wouldn't get magic tape effects. Some of those effects came from awkward switching of tape characteristic equalization and preemphasis -- both mis...

Re: cd burning?
<<<nero is fussy about the blank cds you use >>> It's not Nero. These are all the problems I used to have on a really old PC. Everything was critical and I had to be really careful which kinds of disks I used and the burn speed and other settings. I also had enormous problems with the free Nero that...
