Re: Adding music to a slideshow of digital photos
This is actually Keynote's job. That's the slide show production tool. I think it's buried in iWorks. You can probably force iDVD to do this. You'll need to produce your audio track, import it to iDVD and then guess at the durations of the slides so they come out synchronized with the words. Keynote...

Re: distortion
<<<It may be worth checking the manual for the Sony to see if the output can be switched to -10 dBV>>> Probably not. DAT machines are aggressively professional. Most of us without TV stations in our house use the headphone output and use the headphone volume control for output level. Koz

<<<what software is that? >>>
The free version of Veritas would do that. Nasty surprise. "Wait. Where's the rest of my show...?"

<<<looks at the dynamic range and then amplifies accordingly, all the way up to 0Db. >>> It looks at the whole wave, both sides, and brings everything up the same amount until the highest peak hits either zero, or the value you set. That's not what everybody wants, but that's what it does. "Nor...

Re: Recording in Mono
Most people capture or convert the voice performance to stereo even though it's a mono microphone. It effortlessly integrates into stereo shows no matter who's doing the editing. It saves the midnight phone calls about the voice performance being "damaged" because the voice only appears on...

Export Gotcha
I'm not totally sure how to complain about this because it's a little out there. Audacity 1.3.12. I don't think it makes any difference the platform, but it's OS-X 10.5.8. I wanted to create and capture a live sound clip in 32-floating for testing. I used 48000, Stereo as is my wont because it's bei...

Re: Buzzing noise while trying to record from Vinyl
<<<It's nothing to do with the acual recording.>>> I didn't say it did. I said, in brief, you can't plug your amplifier into your computer. You can't do that to most Windows laptops. The plugs may look the same, but they're electrically very different and will cause distortion. Your friend may have ...

Re: Recording in Mono
I would record a test and make sure it works. I have Music CD recording software that doesn't like mono music. In fact, it will not convert to stereo on the fly. I get a damaged recording with the end of the performance missing.
