Re: I get a watery sound when removing noise in audacity

Just to dot the Is and cross the Ts, the computer microphone marries itself electrically to the sound card and you can't use them on a separate sound mixer.

Re: I get a watery sound when removing noise in audacity

I think you're already out of the "cheap" world. Audacity will not manage more than one sound device, so that's one computer microphone or one USB adapter. A live microphone and a guitar counts as two things. If you're on a Windows laptop, there's a good chance you can't plug your guitar d...

Re: Does transfering audio between computers ruin sound qual

Anything that sends your work up to the internet is going to take forever. Much better transfer with a local cable, or, if your computers are networked, open one on the other and transfer that way. Start the transfer. Go to bed. It will be far faster with a portable drive or a thumb drive and that w...

<<<However, there is that spare iMic in your garage>>>

Re: No playback sound.

Many CD burning programs have more than one option. "Music CD" is the format that will play in your mom's Buick, and Data CD will not. Data CD is the format you want if you need to put many different types of files on your CD. Photoshop pictures, Excel spreadsheets, or raw music files. Som...

Re: new user - editing MP3 files

The first thing you need to know is Audacity doesn't edit MP3. Audacity imports MP3 music and converts it to its own high-quality internal format. Then you can edit or apply filters as you need. The music doesn't get any better, it just makes filters more efficient. The problem comes when you want t...

Windows Soundflower??

Is there such a thing as Soundflower for Windows? Soundflower is the Mac tool that installs the "recording from the computer" sound pathways that Mac never had, and Windows machines are losing. It may have changed from the last time I used it, but it didn't do anything else. It was simple....

There's another one of those... http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Recording_audio_playing_on_the_computer The good news is, some computers don't. More and more modern Windows machines are dropping out of the factory with no convenient way to record computer sound. For a while there, the tools were j...
