Re: Time Code
If you edit your video in Drop Frame, 23.976, then frame time in the editor and time of day should match. Specific time labels (not video frames) are dropped to make up the difference. You should also Audacity edit in 48000 rather than 44100. All your preferences should be video standard, 48000, 16-...

Silver Surfers. I like that.
There are tools to make your performance louder through dynamic compression as well. It boosts the quiet parts without affecting the parts already loud enough.

And the other two platforms? That's what's so darn much fun messin' with a multi-platform program.

Re: Speed change
<<<I need to add about two seconds of space to this track. Is there a way to insert blank spaces?>>> Generate > Silence [select duration] > OK. Video tends to be 48000 and Music CD standard is 44100. That's the sampling rate. Music is continuous, but it can't be inside a digital system. It has to be...

Re: I get a watery sound when removing noise in audacity
I have achieved Nirvana. One of the digital supervisors has a guitar just down the hall from me, he'll let me use it, and he's going to be on vacation(holiday) for the rest of the week.

How would one turn that into a feature request? It's not the first time this has happened.
Launch Audacity with -nofilters option? By definition you can't make this a preference because Audacity fails to start under extreme distress.

Re: I get a watery sound when removing noise in audacity
<<<will the "acoustic noise canceling" cause problems recording a guitar?>>> I can but find out. I expect it to be a little thin, but that can be cured in Audacity with no great increase in damage. I also expect it to help suppress the air conditioning noise and that will be a big plus. I ...

Nowhere is it written that you can't have two problems. Did you look at how full your hard drive is?

Re: I get a watery sound when removing noise in audacity
Perhaps you bought the wrong $20 microphone. http://www.logitech.com/en-us/webcam-communications/microphones/devices/221 I have one of these, too. Small diaphragm condenser microphone with simple USB interface and acoustic noise canceling. Perfect for Skype and communications and a minor on performa...

Re: Audacity takes an age to load up, then crashes. ALSO..
Programs that suddenly take an age to load could be choking the computer. While you're in Disk Utilities, see how much room you have on your hard drive. I start to worry when the drive goes much over about 70% or 80% full. The computer will start to act funny at about the 90% point and it will fail ...
