Re: generate low frequency tones smoothly

There is a joke that all Hollywood earthquakes only have A waves because you can clearly see the wine glass walking across the table with the wine splashing everywhere, but you can't photograph a room moving at a 1Hz rate.

Re: LATENCY

And everybody missed one. It takes time for the speakers or headphones to generate the sound and you to respond to it plus the microphone overhead. I'm perfectly clear those are tiny numbers, but you're making adjustments in the microsecond range. I did it by creating a click track and playing along...

Re: I get a watery sound when removing noise in audacity

Have a go at effects. I imagine anyone should be able to get rid of that last little hiss and since it's predominantly a vocal microphone, it will have a presence haystack around 3K or 4K and a drooping bass. I just plugged it in and selected it in the input system preferences and Audacity. The file...

Re: How to compare a original and a edited mp3 file?

Since Audacity doesn't directly edit MP3, all the parts of the second file will be different from the original whether you changed them or not. MP3 transitions always create damage.

Also, Audacity will not recognize spoken words no matter what format they're in if that's what you're after.

Re: generate low frequency tones smoothly

Behold some of the problems of having Audacity do useful work outside the range of audio. At seven cycles, you should be able to see your speakers walk across the table or the grill cloth slapping against the cabinet. One of the earthquake waves -- Alpha, I think -- is around 7 Hz. You can go the ot...

Re: Time Code

<<<I have the exact frame.>>> That's what I was going to suggest. Time Of Day in the video editor is real and common between the two editors. I do have a calculator that talks directly in all the world's time systems. That's been handy. http://www.calculatorsource.com/ci-9226.html I've place a featu...

Re: Markers

Technically, they're not "Markers" since you can't edit with them except indirectly. But once you understand what they do, they can be handy. That and development of labels/markers is progressing. People arrive at Audacity from video editors and wonder where the "In Point" marker...

Re: Time Code

OK. I see it. If you're in 23.976 drop frame in your video editor and you take two time cues and subtract them, it doesn't take into account the missing numbers. In drop frame, subtracting 200 frames from 300 frames doesn't always give you 100 frames. If you're editing frame accurate cues, that's ro...

Re: Time Code

I see it. No, there's no provision for 23.976. It may not be hard to add. It's a fixed cousin to NTSC Drop Frame. 3/5 or something like that. It still bothers me you can generate a 2 hour audio show and it doesn't match a 2 hour long video show. Are you editing 24.00 feature film? I can't figure out...
