Re: Not playing .flac

Modern Macs do not support Audacity 1.2. Get Audacity 1.3.12 from here... http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_mac You can have both Audacity 1.2 and 1.3 on your machine as long as you only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 projects will not open in 1.2. Audacity will play unknown compressed music fi...

Re: need more gain - peavey or ????

Most equipment with one volume control have only 60dB microphone gain. Voltage gain of 1000 is about the most you can manage without the electronics becoming unstable or doing other naughty things. As I wrote to one manufacturer, I would kill to have just 10dB more gain. When you slide over the thre...

Re: Removing Mobile/Cell Interference

It doesn't have to look like you raided the kitchen, either. Hollywood Grip suppliers will sell you black foil. They use it for lighting problems. Block intense stage light with something that's malleable and not likely to catch fire.

Re: Removing a Vocal using Audacity

Vocal removal only works with Stereo music. If your MP3 downloads are highly compressed mono, you're dead. There are a lot of other reasons for it to fail, too. The original name of the tool was "Center Pan Remover." If the lead singer isn't in the middle of the stereo show -- half-way bet...

Re: abrupt loss of audio though waveform is present

Audacity, unless you tell it not to, always stands on the original sound files, so discarding anything was a bad move. In Audacity 1.3.12... http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_mac ...you can tell audacity to... Projects > Copy all audio...(safest). Audacity will then pull all your music inside it...

Re: Spectrum - Frequency Analysis - Levels

If you have a complex waveform -- a square wave instead of a pure sine wave, then the analysis will vary most widely depending on the accuracy of your sweep. A square wave is made up of multiple sine waves adding and subtracting as needed. If you do a sloppy sweep, you may just get the square wave f...

http://www.videohelp.com/ http://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/authoring-svcd-vcd This forum used to be called "VCDHelp.com." They may be able to help you. People in the Audacity forum tend to be heavy on audio and maybe a side of video...sometimes. I would be delighted to help you if y...
