Re: effects not exporting?
This is me with the deer in the headlights look. I have no idea what could cause that........ Do any of the other effects work? If you applied a simple amplify, but really go crazy -- overdo it. Does that effect export? You flew right by where you got the tracks from. Are these 48000, 16-bit, Stereo...

Re: wierd phasing effect on recordings.
Anybody ever run across "Echo Cancellation" or "Conference Call" settings?
It seems we would run into that a lot faster than "Concert Hall" simulators.

Re: record microphone to stereo track
It's a drop down menu underneath the little black arrow to the left of the track.
Every so often we get into it about a better way to show that. Nobody can find it.

Re: Exporting to a WAV file
They won't fit because the Music CD authoring program complained, or they won't fit because you added up the file sizes? If you're in Audacity 1.3.12 (as you probably should be) then you can export each song as 44100, 16-bit, Stereo and get a much better idea of the actual size on the CD. That's the...

Re: Importing Audio file
A note here that Vocal Removal fails a lot more times that it succeeds. It's not click and it works. As indicated, if the original music is mono -- all the performers sound like they're centered between the two speakers -- you're dead immediately. Vocal Removal works on Stereo tracks. If the vocal i...

Re: Importing Audio file
You don't have to "import" anything. Launch Audacity and File > Open.

Re: need more gain - peavey or ????
<<<with many (maybe most) people recording rock groups or vocalists close up there is plenty of gain>>>
That's what kills people when they buy "respected" equipment and discover they can't record their acoustic guitar from three feet away. Different show.

Re: Timer recording fails as does recovery
I'd like to hear the words: "I started a recording manually -- no timer-- and it went 20 minutes with no problem."

Re: 1.3 Questions
Audacity will not Save a sound file. To get a WAV sound file, you have to Export one. You Save Projects. Two different things.

Re: 1.3 Questions
<<<Maybe a WAV project file can be made up in the 1.2 format then when the 1.3 is opened, the WAV project from the previous 1.2 can be opened in the 1.3?. >>> There are Projects and stand-alone WAV files. Two different things. The Audacity internal Project format is a version of WAV, but you don't g...
