Re: Individual song MP3 files

You can use the Command-B to put a label at the beginning of each song. Then when you File > Export Multiple, Audacity will break up your show into songs -- or however you labeled it You can find accurate label points by zooming in to the timeline and back out. Drag-Select a portion of show and Comm...

Re: M4A Softwares

Audacityy 1.2 is really old and doesn't know about the modern sound formats. Try Audacity 1.3.12.

You can safely put both versions on your computer, but only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 projects will not open in 1.2.

Re: Recording issue

Which Windows and which Audacity, exactly? Laptop and by who?
You appear to have a profoundly unstable machine, but knowing that info is a good start.

Has this ever worked?

Re: FLAC Slider

Bad choice of words. I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around the function of "level."

If the file size doesn't change (much) and the quality is fixed, why would you want anything other than fast?

Re: record microphone to stereo track

MP3 encoding quality is a slider. The higher bitrate, the better the music. For a stereo show, 128 is OK, 256 is very good, and anything over that is excellent. The file sizes go up as you do this. WAV files are always essentially perfect, but their file sizes are very much higher. You shouldn't do ...

Re: record microphone to stereo track

<<<Anyone any thoughts??>>> Yes, I would have posted this under its own, unique message. Anyone concerned with ripping vinyl is going to miss it. The subject header is "Microphone." Past that, did you plug your music system into the microphone socket of your Sony Viao? Microphone sockets a...

Past the graphics, did we solve the original problem?

Re: Crash during MP3 export

I'd feel better had you said you installed the lame closely associated with your new installation of Audacity 1.3. They're not all the same. http://audacityteam.org/download/ Every MP3 export of each of your songs crashes now, right? It's not only one? Just checking. How about a wav file that you di...

Re: Recording an online webinar

You are driving to the conference which is also being posted to the web? or you are sitting at home in your bunny slippers watching on your computer? There are screen capture programs that can grab shows directly from the screen ( and speakers) and record it. VidCap, SnapzPro, all different dependin...

Re: Audacity and ASIO driver

Then it's been seriously flawed from the first day.

Here's a bit on Steinberg (ASIO) licensing.
