Which Audacity do you have, which computer, and how do you want to combine them? One after the other or both playing at the same time?

Re: How can I knock down mic pops?
It's not going to work if the sound is clearly audible as a percussion sound. That only works for muffled rumbles. You're may be in the camp of people who want to take a mixed musical performance apart into individual instruments. You can't separate the violins from everything else in an orchestra a...

Re: clipping
Any of the "songs" on this page overload? http://www.kozco.com/tech/soundtests.html They're all short test clips. If you're like most people, you really like one type of song, Eskimo Lithuanian Square-Dancing, for example, and your downloads are likely to originate from one place. LimeWire...

Re: How to remove very low mouth sounds from podcast
Let me give you a little more on those adjustments. All the dB values are based on the dancing lights sound meter. The amount of correction is defined as that many dB lower than it is now. The threshold setting is absolute dB, zero being maximum. You should very badly adjust the settings just once t...

Like this? This is Steve's noise gate, version 2.1 or 3.0 depending on how you count. http://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=1272 Level Reduction is the amount of correction. I think I used -20dB. Gate Threshold is the level below which correct is applied. I think I used -30dB. Attack/De...

Re: problem recording guitar
Can I assume you're playing an acoustic guitar and you're playing the drum track recording so you can call where you are? It's not clear from the post exactly what you're doing. People who capture live performances need to use headphones in order to avoid feedback and distortion. http://kozco.com/te...

Re: How can I knock down mic pops?
<<Tried High Pass Filter with suggested Hz settings to no effect >>> Oh, it should have had some affect. Maybe not what you wanted. You can't be listening on computer speakers to hear this effect. Good headphones or a large sound system. It occurs to me you may not have what you said. Normal plosive...

Re: How can I knock down mic pops?
You maybe able to use the tool that vinyl recordings use to reduce cat-hair-on-the-record pops. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Click_Removal#How_does_it_work.3F http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Click_Removal There is yet a third possibility, but I need to wait for the sun to come up in the UK. Re: How can I knock down mic pops?
You can start with the High Pass Filter set for 80 Hz, 100 Hz, or 120 Hz. Those are the three common frequencies built into audio mixers and some microphone electronics to help with plosives.
There may be another tool. I need to look.
