Re: Testers needed for Mac 1.3.13 Alpha to resolve bug fixes
<<<The fix for that was global, not Windows specific, so could you just import those 35 MP3s into the latest 1.3.13 Nightly build on Mac and see if history responds just as fast?>>> Yes. I understand that. I was wondering if the History was broken before I tried to test it. In Windows, it's clearly ...

Re: Testers needed for Mac 1.3.13 Alpha to resolve bug fixes
I got the fileset for the last one. You should probably deal with one of the others if you feel like it. The more complicated ones are rough for me because I never use any of the more complex tools. I never know if Audacity is broken, or I'm using the tool wrong. Step one: Learn how to use the tool ...

It's also possible you're sending the show completely destroyed and you're listening to it wrong.

Re: Trouble Uploading Recordings Online
Fascinating. I pulled down the damaged clip and I would not say it had static. Static would be an AM radio with a thunder shower in the next town -- or somebody with a bad vacuum cleaner. What you have is much more entertaining. You have your lecture clear and clean on the Left side of a stereo pres...

Re: Testers needed for Mac 1.3.13 Alpha to resolve bug fixes
That's not how it works on Macs. 20100810 Mac Mini 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo Tiger OS-X 10.4.11 Audacity 1.3.12 I imported 35 MP3 files and opened up history and they were all there and listed. The program did not halt, slow, or become unresponsive. I closed History and did 20 plus edits -- small delet...

Re: Command line processing
No.
Audacity in the latest version just got very limited Batch Processing in only some of the tools. So even inside Audacity you can't do this.

Re: Split track into two, then mono. NOT WORKING!!
In order for Vocal Removal to work, the original music has to be stereo -- they have to be stereo from the recording studio. It's also nice if the singer was in the exact middle between left and right and you didn't get the music from an internet download. Vocal removal fails a lot of the time. It's...

Re: 42-year-old tapes sound great on speakers before Audacit
<<<I am not into recording audio from the internet.>>> Oh, darn. Had you said yes to any of those things, we could get on with it. What happens if you Export as Microsoft WAV format instead of MP3? Leave the Audacity preference settings at 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. The files will be enormous compared t...

OK, so that's a file sharing service like Drop Box and others. No. I don't believe they damaged your work. I may be getting you confused with another poster who had static on their show. We never heard one of your damaged shows, did we? How would we do that? If there anything particular about them? ...

Re: Why are bits of the vocal track not playing back?
Remembering that we're spread out over all time zones, what most people mean by recording live, is capturing a "live" internet show. No microphone needed. So "Live" recording has lost it's punch. I've taken to asking if the person doing the recording can buy the performer a coffe...
