Re: No sound on MP3 export
Some Windows machines like to assign all the sound services to a USB device when it arrives. That means your computer is trying to send the performance back to the microphone. You can reassign that with the Windows Control Panels. Windows Control Panel http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Mi...

Re: Need help with Audacity and SoundFlower
I can guess why that one did what it did. Sometimes Audacity gets "stuck" in the old settings and needs to be restarted before the new settings take effect. It doesn't always do it and it catches us off guard every time. You can't have the patch cable and SoundFlower at the same time. Koz

Re: Latency and that LOW voice thing
<<<Don't have external sound card, just internal, 1/8" input.>>> I's a lot worse than that. You have a Mono, Low-Level, Microphone input on a Windows machine that assumes it needs to manage the sound for echo cancellation during a video conference. And you're overloading it. You thought that wa...

Re: importing track for editing
I think that's also Apple AAC format. Standard iTunes.
I think Audacity 1.3.12 can read those.

You can install Audacity 1.2 and 1.3, but only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 projects will not open in 1.2.

Re: Need help with Audacity and SoundFlower
I have a joke here that SoundFlower makes Macs as unstable as Windows machines are all the time. I can't use that any more because the last two Windows, Vista and Win7, have all but eliminated the self recording feature. It has not been a popular decision. "What do you mean I can't record the i...

Re: Need help with Audacity and SoundFlower
I'm out. I have two licenses for WireTap for computer recording and I wouldn't do it again. WireTap is trying really hard to be a full-featured editor and production program and along the way, they lost their simple record from the internet tools. I called them on it and they said, "Why do you ...

Re: Slight lag in OSX
It's not that hard. Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Displays Pick any resolution from 640 x 480 to to the maximum your system will do (I show nine variations) and choose the colour profile (CIE-RGB, SMPTE-C, sRGB IEC61966-2.1, etc). You may not get the refresh rate listings past 60Hz if the ...

Re: Slight lag in OSX
There is another tool that may be useful. Go > Utilities > Activity Monitor. That will sit in the corner and monitor the activity of various parts of your machine as you work. If you discover the hard drive goes nuts when you sweep the cursor around, then the drive may be in trouble -- or you may be...

Re: Need help with Audacity and SoundFlower
Now you know why I don't like SoundFlower very much. I can't find the simplified setup instructions. I know I've seen them. SoundFlower installs as a playback device in your System Preferences. Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Output > SoundFlower. There's another magic step to this I...
