Re: recording off air to dell inspiron
Just because I haven't hijacked a thread in a long time, I opened up my office XP machine... Start > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Sound Recording > Realtck AC97 Audio and "Advanced" is gray. That means I'm Surely Out of Luck, right, other than money-based software or hardware...

Re: search track for file-based sound byte
You only need to find the first one and it should be once an hour or half-hour after that. I'm trying to remember... Because they were built-to-purpose. They weren't general purpose computers masquerading as something else. They didn't have to worry about Windows Update® doing a massive critical patch at the exact instant you're trying to record "Are You Being Served?" Even with iCAL, the Mac scheduling ...

On Windows XP, the software may be found under "Other" "Hidden" "Obsolete" "Advanced" or some label like that. They're getting you used to the fact that it's only supported sporadically in Vista and not at all in Win7. Read through here... http://wiki.audacity...

You're not recording "off-air." That requires a radio receiver and connections to the computer.

Re: Cannot Record via Onboard Audio in Windows 7
It's not unusual for someone to make it through a careful, thorough explanation of the problem and not tell us what the job is. What are you trying to record? YouTube audio? Yes, that's correct. As you progress from WinXP to Win7, recording the computer's own show is harder and harder. Many Win7 mac...
