Re: Unable to play project

I'm more than a little confused. You used the Sony recorder to capture a performance. You play the performance on the Sony and it's OK. You copied the performance out of the Sony and into iTunes where it plays just fine. You dragged the performance file out of iTunes into Audacity where it fails to ...

Re: recording problems

I'm going to fill in the holes. You bought an adapter cable so you can plug the headphone or instrument connection on your guitar amplifier into the Mic-In of your Windows laptop. That doesn't work on most Windows laptops. Mic-In is expecting a tiny, delicate mono microphone signal and you're massiv...

Re: Getting rid of fisssss fissss ....

You're recording too loud. When you record the performance, the red bouncing light sound meter should not go all the way up -- to the right. The blue waves should not touch "1" in either direction. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/Audacity1_record.jpg A recording that is too loud or overload...

What's the job? What are you trying to capture or record?

Re: Can a couple of Mac people open these Windows projects?

That didn't go well. The Lithuanian Folk Song still won't open. Further, when I tell the complaint panel that I want to see the log, there is no way to dismiss the log. The little coloured balls in the upper left don't work.

There are screen grabs for all the steps.

Re: Twelfth Fret?

The preamplifier is just to the right, out of camera range. The speaker amplifier is straight down from the Mac, on the floor. The Bass Boomer is just to the right of that.

Those aren't computer speakers. They're 7-1/2 pound bookshelf speakers.

Re: recording problems

Are you playing an instrument into a microphone? How is the microphone connected?

Re: Prosonus Firestudio Not reading input

<<<Any idea how to get this working?>>> I do, or as least I have a good start. Stop using Audacity 1.2. Audacity 1.2 is not supported on newer Macs. http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_mac You can install both versions on your Mac if you want, but only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 projects will...

Re: lossless export

Many people say "Sound File" when they mean "MP3." That's a mistake. MP3 creates damage and the damage is worse if the original work was already compressed and damaged like an internet stream. There are serious restrictions to using streaming audio or other MP3 downloads in sound...

Oh, right. I might have damaged the project. I fix.
