Re: Is there a way to turn up the volume on the entire proje
<<<My goal is to get a louder final product: a louder MP3, if you will.>>> You know this is already ringing alarm bells, right? You don't want to fix a technical problem, you're trying to fix an aesthetic one. Starting with the longest track, select it (click in the panel to the left) and then Shift...

Re: i got windows 7?
Most Windows XP systems provided What-U-Hear as a normal thing and everybody could make it work. Windows Vista many times hid What-U-Hear and you had to go looking for it -- but you could still do it. Many Windows-7 systems are missing What-U-Hear, and the only way to record YouTube sound is with on...

Re: Recording input - "stereo mix" now gone
Let's try this again. Audacity is irrelevant in all this. Leave it closed. Windows is required to provide sound and tools to all the programs on your computer. It does this in the Windows Control Panels which are described in the two web sites I posted. You should be able to select Stereo-Mix in the...

Re: Question about the Waveform.
A great many times that happens when a music pathway overloads or becomes damaged. A great many times it's because somebody tried to push a Stereo, High-Level, Powerful audio signal into the Mic-In of a laptop which is expecting a Tiny, Delicate, Mono microphone signal.

Re: Recording input - "stereo mix" now gone
Stereo Mix isn't an Audacity problem. Audacity does everything Windows allows it to do. You need to be messing about in Windows Control Panels. Windows Control Panel http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#Using_the_Control_Panel Or this one... http://wiki.audacityteam.org/...

Re: Error while opening sound device - Zoom R16
Can you set the R16 for sound standard -- 44100, 16 bit, Stereo? Forget multi-track for a minute. Set Audacity Preferences for that standard and then restart Audacity. Oh, wait. One more step. Download and install Audacity 1.3.12. http://audacityteam.org/download/ Audacity 1.2 is no longer supported...

Re: I'm about to snap!! File LOST when I SAVED just min's be
I still can't visualize exactly what you did, but you may have several different problems. Next time you get to the end of a show, Save a Project, certainly, but also Export As WAV. That will give you a stand-alone sound file of your show that's not dependent on anything else. A Project is a clutch ...

Re: Saved Project Won't Play Tracks
Yes. Audacity doesn't copy music inside itself for editing (unless you change it). It points to your music at the right time. Say it's time in the show to play "Sympathy For The Devil." Audacity goes out to your hard drive, finds the song, plays it, and then puts it back and then goes on w...

Re: I'm about to snap!! File LOST when I SAVED just min's be
<<<I made a COPY of the original file and edited the COPY>>> Maybe you didn't. AUP isn't a sound file. It's a laundry list of instructions what to do with all that stuff in your /DATA folder. They go together. MyVoiceOver.aup /MyVoiceOver_data If you split one off without the other.....I'm not sure ...
