Carefully. If you select the shortest track first, only the short duration in all the tracks will be corrected.

Audacity 1.2 is not completely stable on newer computers. You can download and install Audacity 1.3.12 from here...

You can also get instability if you fill up your hard drive, or, if you're on a Windows machine, have a badly fragmented hard drive.
