Re: Ripping Music

Macs have a rough time of it because they've never been able to deal with this internally. You can use the crossed cable trick, or you can install SoundFlower. Without spending a bunch of money, those are the only ways I know of. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Recording_audio_playing_on_the_compu...

<<<'undo' button doesn't return the sound to the original.>>> The point of my post is the desire to Export a WAV file of the work in addition to the Saved Project that will contain the later edits. Had you done that, it wouldn't matter how badly the show becomes damaged, you can always go back to th...

Audacity is famous for accepting and even editing an audio file when in fact, it has no idea at all what it's doing and may produce a damaged show. Open up your or...

Re: DESPERATE HELP NEEDED...Error

And make sure it's a text editor and not a word processor. If it starts asking you for layout and font style, you may have the wrong thing. Even if you do get stuck in a word processor, many of them will allow you to save in Plain Text. Mac TextEdit has two modes; Rich Text and Plain Text. Rich Text...

Typically, you would plug the microphone directly into the Mic-In using whatever adapters are needed for your microphone. Many Lap...

Re: Overdub Problem

I can give you the fuzzy, global idea what to look for. You may be recording more than you think you are. Check the Windows Control Panels and make sure you don't have What-U-Hear or Stereo-Mix selected. That's the setting you need to record internet audio, but it's death on live musical performance...

Surveillance software keeps a rolling one, two, or three month continuous recording and allows you to drop in at any time and enjoy the show at any speed, forward or backward, or select a time segment and export it. It also allows you to start a new rolling recording and effectively freeze the old t...

Re: Default FFT settings

Audacity 1.2 is not fully supported on modern computers. We didn't chase you off to download and install Audacity 1.3.12 because you created a user problem. Had we discovered a computer problem, that would be the end of Audacity 1.2. You can install both Audacity versions, but only use one at a time...

Re: Default FFT settings

Is this enough of a scare to prompt you to Export As WAV when you finish a live performance capture? The wav file becomes the backup if you completely drill your self into the mud with the project, or the computer does something nasty and you're left with thirty-five million tiny au files in a folde...

If you look in Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Input, you should see two listings. Built-In Audio Input or Line-In in addition to the microphone. Plug in your keyboard with one of these if you have RCA connections... http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10...
