Re: 1.2.6 noise removal superior to 1.3.6 ??
Please note that if you're still trying to remove tape, or any kind of hiss, you can't really do that. "Hiss" is constructed of most if not all audible frequencies in a random fashion. If you successfully got rid of it, there would be no music left. Every musical note would be represented ...

Re: Clicks in between data and exporting problems
Magnify the blue waves and try to pick edit points that preserve the up and down rhythm and cadence. If I joined the first two waves -- eliminate the gap, I would get a significant pop since neither the direction nor the level matched. The second two both go through the mid point and they're going i...

Re: Clicks in between data and exporting problems
<<<When set to loop audacity restarts it instantly which is the exact speed I want but when i export to mp3 it slows down considerable and puts a gap of silence before it.>>> Two problems I can see. Where did you get the original sound clip from? Audacity will occasionally edit a sound clip that it ...

Re: Start Playback While Recording?
<<<Is there anyway to listen to an earlier part of the recording while the track continues to record?>>>
No. You can't make Audacity into a TiVo or a DVR. Audacity will record or play.

Re: Join midi files
Audacity doesn't manage MIDI. If you export the MIDI project as WAV or other sound files, then we're here for you.
MIDI isn't a sound format. It's a music instrument control format. You can't directly listen to it.

Re: Frequencies is cut off abruptly
The damage is normal. Any time you stop and start a sine wave quickly, there will be a tick at the beginning and the end. Audacity 1.3.12 has fade in and fade out effects, but the easiest way to get around this is not use a square wave to control the sine wave -- or use a sloppy square wave. You may...

Re: Multi-channel Recording in Audacity
Also note that although we have first-person experience and reviews on many audio techniques and operating equipment, that's not true with multi-channel equipment. That puts us squarely in the Manufacturer's Hype and Urban Legend territory. "I don't personally have this stuff, but my sister kno...
