Re: Strange Effect On Low Frequencies

Your new computer is designed for Skype phone calls to the corporate head office, it's not a general computer like the old one was. First, did you find a Line-In on the side of the laptop? My guess is no. Many Windows machines only have high sensitivity, low level, mono Mic-In. If you're careful, yo...

Re: Can't bring up soundtrack

<<<but I'm not going to question it...>>> You should. Audacity 1.2 is seriously old and unimproved and can cause stability problems in newer computers. You can view your odd problem as just the first chapter, not "I cured the problem forever." http://audacityteam.org/download/ Koz

Re: Getting the recorded WAV file as small as possible

If you split the job up into production and delivery, then you can save or Export WAV files for editing, cleaning, effects, and archive, but reduce to mono and Export as MP3 for delivery. Those steps can reduce the show to a very tiny faction of its original size with little loss in quality. The cat...

Re: hissing sound in recordings

You left out an important part of the story. Was a USB microphone involved? What exactly was the analog part of the show? Sound card with a "computer" microphone? The internal WiFi transmitter might have been radiating into the Mic-In of the laptop, but as I've never heard of that before, ...

This happens inside the authoring program and has nothing to do with the computer, the song name, or the export order. Desktop or fi...

If you AGC first, then the NR has a constantly moving target. Not desirable.

Re: Samson G-Track Static Noise

Is there any setting where the noise goes off or declines? I would have liked a voice sample along with the noise. I can get many microphones to exhibit noise, but most of them are much quieter when you start speaking and have to turn them down. If you speak at a normal level and then stop and the h...

Re: Baby Crying in the background on my sons wedding..now wh

...And if he's crying when you say, "I do," you don't. When Hollywood gets stuck with something like this (and we do), the solution is to round everybody up and say the words again in carefully controlled sound rooms. Lay the new dialog into the old show in place of the damaged dialog in a...
