Re: The Visual Graph [SCREEN SHOT]
Everybody always leaves out Step One. What's the show? What is the purpose of your recording? You can Effect > Amplify > OK and that will increase the size of the waves and make them a little easier to see. You can drag-select a chunk around one of them and Control-E magnify that portion. Would that...

Re: HELLLLPPP!!!!! MY FILES!!!
The Neat and Orderly people always get burned with this. Audacity does not Save sound files. It saves Projects which, as you're finding out, are collections of files which together make up your show. As a general rule, you can't move anything once you create a Project. Locations and names of folders...

Re: Restart Audacity after shutdown
Do you have lots of good, clear, defragmented hard drive space -- although I don't actually think that's it? Did you recently get Skype or other conferencing or "telephone" service? Did you recently get a USB sound "thing." Can be anything: microphone, speakers, headphones, heads...

<<<So we have a difference of opinion here (what else is new :-) ).>>> "I'm shocked. Shocked!" Life is not all serious blame throwing in Hollywood. There's a game where you hold entire conversations in famous movie phrases. I know people that are insanely good at it. When challenged, you n...

Re: Burning CD
You very quickly dig yourself a hole when you try to mix the songs from your 120 song collection with your songs on the Music CD collection. The CD songs are all numbered 01, 02, 03 and the massive collection is all numbered 001, 002, 003. The collection taken as a whole now has three digits and eve...

Re: Burning CD
iTunes lets you create playlists which allow song ordering by simple dragging. You can listen to a playlist in iTunes or your iPod instead of a raw collection of songs. If you don't do that, the system will always play from 'Aardvaark Lullaby' forward or whichever iTunes column you have selected -- ...

Re: Stereo recording not working on Mac but fine on PC
<<<The question remains why the OP even wants or cares that two identical channels are recorded instead of one.>>> I'm with him. It flies in the face of logic that a mono show should be completely compatible with a stereo production or mixdown. I'll bet I can find places where it doesn't work so wel...
