Re: Multiple WMV files?

Audacity doesn't Save sound files. To get one single sound file for YouTube, Export As MP3 from the File menu.

You need the "lame" software to do that in Audacity.

Re: Windows 7 Pro 64bit - Play and Record Stalling

I'm going to sit in the corner and watch. This is well beyond anything I can fix.

And yes, early on, you did tell us you had two 1G drives.

Re: Windows 7 Pro 64bit - Play and Record Stalling

<<<I do not understand the relationship between the Sound Recorder being open and Audacity working.>>>

Oh, there's nothing about your problem that's normal. Opening multiple audio production programs is supposed to frighten Audacity into not working.

Re: Low Volume When Recording

Samson condenser microphone? Lots of complaints from people who have trouble with capture volume. You can easily make up the different in Audacity by applying tools. Effect > Amplify > OK. I don't know that there is a fix. There are a couple of other microphone types that have the same problem. They...

Re: How to save as 32-bit Float

32-bit floating is without question a good format for production. It can do very handy things like overload without permanent sound damage. In the fixed formats, once you clip, you're dead.

Re: How to save as 32-bit Float

There are downsides to converting. People attracted to inspecting microscopic minutia love to point out the just-above-zero errors that can accumulate when you do. Best leave it alone until you find out for sure.

Re: No sound replaying on cd player

<<<I can't receive sounds off my burnt cd on my cd player.>>> Is the CD player the one inside your Mac? Macs do not record internal sound. No Youtube, no iTunes, and no Flash. You can listen to them all, but not record them. You can force your Mac to do that with the SoundFlower program. That allows...

Re: Windows 7 Pro 64bit - Play and Record Stalling

How about those sound clips? If we just can't resolve this any other way, you may be invited to help in the debug effort. That's a good deal more serious and they make take you off the forum for that. In the short term that may not do your production any good, but it will give you a warm fuzzy feeli...

Re: Sample format and rate

MP3 is a one-time delivery format. It creates damage and you can minimize it, but not stop it. If you open an MP3 for production and then save it again, the damage doubles.

Archives and audio production should always be in WAV (or AIFF, etc.) High Quality, Uncompressed formats.

Control click on one of the songs. Open-With > QuickTime Player. Play the song to make sure it's OK. Command-I for INFO panel.

Everything you have ever wanted to know.
