Re: L/R Channel Imbalance
Almost. Neither tool will cause clipping damage unless you specifically tell it to. Damage only occurs if the music peaks go over 0dB -- and even then if you're not in the 32-bit floating mode which can survive that. There was a spirited discussion a while back whether to consider Normalize "Da...

Re: Converting itunes songs to MP3 format
If you bought the music relatively recently, then the songs do not have copy protection and you can do this... iTunes > Preferences > CD Import Settings > MP3 Encoder. Select the song and Advanced > Create MP3 Version. You can select multiple songs by holding the shift key. Drag those out of iTunes ...

Re: Louder recordings without clipping
It's true, live recordings never sound as loud and punchy as a highly produced and filtered commercial music release. It's one of the first surprises someone gets when they record live sound for the first time. Another is how loud and echo-filled their house is. "I can hear the couple next door...

Re: sound quality deterioration
I use the headphone out. That's how I created all the piano and organ test clips on by web site. http://www.kozco.com/tech/organfinale.mp3 If you have a MIDI manager or sequencer software, you can get your MIDI instructions to play on any instrument. You're complaining about different piano sounds, ...

Re: L/R Channel Imbalance
The strong suggestion at the beginning of this was that all the presentations had one low channel over multiple records. We shouldn't read any more into this than there is. If this was an analog system, you would be turning the low knob up slightly and leave it there forever -- or cocking the balanc...

Re: Error Opening Project
The only safe way to do what you want is to Export stand-alone sound files and use those for production. They have no historical baggage to worry about.

Re: Error Opening Project
Audacity does not support multiple Projects at once. Multiple windows in one Project, yes, but not two different Projects. I can guess you scrambled the project manager AUP file or have more than one incomplete managers. It's possible neither Project will open correctly. If you do get one to open, c...

Re: midi to mp3-no audio
What you're trying to do is modest magic. MIDI is not sound. MIDI is machine instructions how hard to strike a piano key and for how long. It has nothing to do with the sound the piano key makes. Software somewhere has to convert that instruction set using internal instruments to music and then save...
