Re: Batch processing a folder
<<<now I can Import & Export using a Chain in Audacity to reduce the bit rate.>>> Or maybe not. It's a better than even chance that the direct MP3 tools work at the native bitrate of the original MP3. Not so Audacity. Audacity pulls work into itself and immediately translates it to very high qua...

Re: Batch processing a folder
The individual components of Chains have to be programmed separate from their more normal versions. If you didn't find the Chain tool you're looking for, chances are it hasn't been programmed yet.

Re: importing sound clips
In short, there are no options. If you pull a music file into Audacity and it isn't happy there, it will play at a funny speed or not play at all. Far better to convert ahead of editing.

I'm assuming a Windows machine. You posted in a part of the forum that doesn't tell us very much.

<<<i used the stealth plug>>>
OK, That's a new one. "Stealth Plug? That may be part of the problem. If the connection isn't normal, Windows may not know its there and reassign the sound to somewhere else.

Re: Audacity takes an age to load up, then crashes. ALSO..
At the risk of recoding Audacity, could there be a message: [LOADING PLUGINS]. ...so that when the machine crashes or takes hours to start, there is somewhere concrete to go. A majority of this thread is trying to decide exactly what's wrong. It seems there is no easy solution, so providing informat...
