<<<18dB per octive filter centered at 180Hz>>> Cool. That's how he got the LFE Low Frequency Effects channel from the main show. You could probably do the same thing with Effects > Low Pass Filter at 180 Hz. He was doing a very specific frequency equalization curve. Yes, you need to be able to trans...

Re: USB mics
But the short answer is no. Audacity will only manage one sound device at a time. People trying to record multi-player games and multi-guest podcasts all run into the same problem. In the case of the games, sometimes you can record the computer's own sound service and that can work, but not capture ...

Re: Large Projects opened as empty projects
You join a long list of people trying to make Audacity into a surveillance system. My rule of thumb is personal involvement. If you can't possibly sit there with no breaks and watch the whole thing in real time, then Audacity may not be the program for you. That peels off all the seven and eight hou...

Re: MP3 Export Quality
There are fuzzy values, too. 32 is the threshold for mono shows. Below that, most people can tell there's something wrong. 64 for a stereo show. 128 is a good overall stereo show with some really minor damage. I think there's a higher value of 300 or 360 where you would need expensive instruments to...

Re: Recommendation for a recording microphone
I'm probably thinking of the ME66 and the ME80 microphones which haven't been made in a long time. They've been replaced with the MKH 416. I like the opinions of the guy in Florida because he has the moisture and salt problems. He used to run into problems with the screw-together systems because of ...

<<<Using 10.6.4 OSX and 1.2.5 Audacity.>>>
On some machines (mine) that is a profoundly unstable combination -- even though it's the recommended one. The others are worse -- except Audacity 1.3.12.

Re: CAN'T EXPORT STEREO
Just to be clear, are you exported files actually in "real" mono, or are they in two-track mono -- stereo with the same left and right? Open them in QuickTime Player and Command-I to get the Info panel. Audacity is supposed to revert to stereo when you activate the panning sliders. Did you...
