Re: Can't Export Wav - Time Remaining Unknown

More one more.

Audacity 1.2 is not supported on modern Macs and may be unstable. Download and use Audacity 1.3.12.

<<<"remaining time: unknown">>>

One more. Did you use any forbidden characters in the file name? Upper and lower case letters, numbers, dash, and underscore. That's it. All other characters may create problems in new files.

Re: Can't Export Wav - Time Remaining Unknown

<<<Every time I try to export as .wav and .ogg it will say "remaining time: unknown">>> How long is the show? <<<Also...how do I export as .mp3?>>> You need to add software to do that. Out of the box Audacity will not Export MP3. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Lame_Installation Koz

Re: Configure USB sound card on Vista

Forgot one. Automatic microphone volume control is frequently bundled with the noise suppression software. They will make your voice crystal clear and level, but will destroy a musical performance.

Re: Configure USB sound card on Vista

Contrast that with that you're supposed to do with your Windows machine. If your laptop has a microphone and speakers, load Skype or your favorite conferencing software, get your ID and password (if you don't already have one) load the ID of the conference room at your home office, dial and start ta...

Re: Any way to improve the sound quality of this mp3 audiobo

Not much there to clean. The track is horribly compressed MP3 -- that's what the bubbling and gargling is in the background. It overloads and it has noise distortion rippling all through it. It's muffled and has about the same fidelity as a telephone, so there's nothing to boost to make it clearer. ...

Be sure and get your MP3 lame software and FFMpeg from the same place. Don't use any older ones.

Re: Recover unsaved recordings (no crash involved)

I'm horrified that you're putting your computer to sleep without saving the work. I'm going to have to lie down for a minute with a cool towel on my head. "Sleep," even on a Mac is not reliable. On my perfect in every way MacBook Pro, I have had very rare instances where the machine simply...

Re: Digital garbled sounds on playback????? HELP

I think you're watching your echo cancellation and volume management kicking in and Steve thinks you have an internal sound management problem.

Let's see who's right.

Re: Digital garbled sounds on playback????? HELP

<<<aux out channel to a line in channel on a laptop.>>> Does it say specifically Stereo Line-In on the laptop, or are you assuming it's Line-In because it's the only connector there? It's very typical that the only sound connection on a Windows laptop is for a mono microphone, not stereo production....
