We have to be careful on the forum not to make it into a commercial for money-based products. All these tools are free, right? I don't see any actual product information. "Call me and we'll talk." is not product information.

Re: Terrible playback and sound using rock band mic
<<<you'll be able to get a better idea on what I mean about the low volume and muffled voice sound. ^__^>>> Yes, but those two are different. It should be possible to get perfectly clear, sparkly voice on a USB microphone, but not always at the right volume. Muffled can be you're using the mic wrong...

Re: Labels on the fly
You'll run into this eventually, too: Audacity doesn't have Edit Points. Cut In and Cut Out like a video editor. the best you can do is clever manipulation of Labels which become sticky during a drag-select.

Re: Paste/replace
<<<it's the one hatrabbit asked about I think.>>> Probably true. However, it's the least likely to result in a graceful edit. Hard cuts, real ones, rarely come without disturbances at the cut point which announce their presence. If you insist on doing that, you have to match up waveforms and only cu...

Re: Intel atom 330 and recording vocals
You can't do that with many computers. Audacity doesn't directly support ASIO software without recompiling and without that, you may always have sound delays that will prevent you singing to yourself -- overdubbing. Audacity 1.3.12 has a setting that will allow you to 'Tune Out' disk drive latency, ...

Re: recording my bass guitar need help!!
Again for a minute, forget the playback systems. That just confuses the issue. When you plug your UCA202 in, the computer should think about it for a minute and then the UCA or a USB Chip Number you've never seen before will show up in the recording panels for selection. If you can't get that far, t...

Re: recording my bass guitar need help!!
Just for form, how, exactly did you adapt your guitar pickup 1/4" plug to the UCA202? You can mess it up. The guitar is mono and the UCA202 is stereo.

Re: recording my bass guitar need help!!
<<<comp specs is: dual core 2.20GHZ 2 GB RAM 64 bit OS>>> I have a Mac, a Windows PC, and a linux machine that can all do that. One of our tricks when we search for damage is to simplify the machine as far as possible. Turn down the playback services, deselect "Play Track while Recording New On...

Re: understanding peak-meters
<<<So why Audacity displays correctly a peak in its meter, drawing the bar exactly at 0 dB?>>> That is a mistake. Audacity only meters the top half of the blue waves. Not the bottom. It may have been corrected since I saw this problem. I generated a natural sound test signal with a microphone. I int...
