<<<There are some guitar amplifiers which focus on a clean sound>>> A clean guitar sound. Nobody would put their phonograph or iPod through a guitar amplifier and nobody would play their guitar through their entertainment sound system. They're really different. The reason people want the older ampli...

Re: Mixing a Live Band from a Zoom H4n Stereo Recording?

This is why the grownups mic everything individually. Pulling apart a mixed performance into individual instruments is stunningly hard to do -- if you can do it at all. There was a posting further up the forum from someone who got really good results splitting a performance. He wouldn't tell us how ...

Re: Guitar recording: Low volume, metronome output gets reco

This is the setting you need to record YouTube or other internet shows, but really messes you up when you want to do straight recording. These are the instructions to recor...

Re: CRASH when using Effects

You can get your symptoms with memory errors. Audacity might be the only application you have that tries to use all the machine memory it can get. Re: CRASH when using Effects

It is intended that all the old Audacity 1.2 projects open in Audacity 1.3.12. In any event, you can have both versions installed, just don't try to use both at once. If you have "magic" sound files, it's possible both versions will be unstable. What kind of shows are you trying to edit? Koz

Re: bit depth change

The files will be large.

Change the little window at the lower left of the operating screen to 44100. That will convert the project. Then Export as WAV Microsoft 16 bit PCM.

After you're done, open the file in QuickTime Player and Command-I the INFO panel to confirm what you did.

Re: Labels on the fly

Audacity 1.3.12 is a solid product and most likely to result in a good Project and/or Exported sound file.

Other versions might do that.
