Re: Set recording wayyy too much bass...
You may also run into the problem that newer Windows machines also have voice conferencing software running on the Mic-In. They try to tailor the volume and fidelity automatically so you can do conference calls much better. This usually kills straight sound recording. It's not so much that Mic-In do...

Re: Pioneer CDJ to PC NO LINE IN!
You missed a step in the middle. Plug your equipment into the Blue Line-In connection. Open the Windows Control Panels and switch to Line-In. Windows Control Panel http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#Using_the_Control_Panel Then launch or re-launch Audacity and the Line...

Re: Music Display Colours
Shows get stuck at the worst compression in the chain. If you download something horribly compressed from the internet, no measure of upgrading or increased bitrate or high quality format will fix it. You will just be transmitting a damaged show with stunning inefficiency. I use more right-brain des...

And yes, if you're using the Mic-In of your laptop, you can't do that.

Re: Set recording wayyy too much bass...
I think I may have run into this problem before. The mixer should have a "Tape Out" which is the show without the room, Eq, and effects boosting. This will give you a "flat" recording that should just sound OK. When you run this show back through your music system, the room shoul...

Re: can't record
Try resetting your Audacity Preferences to 44100, 16-bit, Mono. Restart Audacity. Mono should be the setting for both your built-in microphone and the USB microphone.
Make darn sure your microphone is selected in the Windows Setup Panels. See if it works.

Re: Define custom file format
SLN is a Visual Studio file. You can install lame software and FFMpeg software and see if Audacity will recognize the format. http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows If not, then you'll need to convert the file to a WAV or other format that Audacity knows about. Super and Switch (Google) are t...

Private Messages Collapse
I have a bunch of New Private Messages. They didn't all fit, so the system stacked them in storage. I tried to clear out some space for them, but, no. Apparently, the system will not partially "unlock" saved message. It's either all or nothing. Suppose the Saved Messages quantity is larger...

Re: I cant Import Wav files into Audacity
If you start experiencing an unstable Audacity 1.2, stop using it. Download Audacity 1.3.12 from here...
http://audacityteam.org/download/
...and use that. You can install both Audacity versions, but only use one at a time. Audacity 1.2 Projects should open up in 1.3.12.
