Re: Can someone remove the vocals of this song for me?
The title of this tool is "Center Pan Removal if you can get it to work at all and probably not." The problem with this piece is not that Vocal Removal didn't work. It actually works remarkably well, but the orchestra is mostly mono during the first half of the performance (up to 1:15) and...

Re: Airplane in the background... how to remove it?
At first blush you might assume the "Noise Removal" tool would be indicated, but no. Noise removal is only useful for noises that are completely stable and unchanging over the course of the performance like microphone hum or gentle air conditioning noises. An airplane pitch and volume chan...

Re: Reloading saved files for later work
<<<transfer minidisc music tracks to the laptop. >>> If you plugged the MiniDisk headphone connection to the Mic-In of the Windows Laptop (you never responded as to the type of computer you have) then that doesn't work. Mic-In on a Windows laptop is mono, not stereo, and super sensitive -- easily ov...

Re: help with sound echo when recording guitar
If it's an electric guitar and you're plugged into a newer Windows laptop, you may be stuck in overload and Windows conferencing services. Windows will try to bring voices up and suppress everything else for tools like Skype. If you don't turn that off, it may make your performances sound terrible. ...

Re: Multitrack recording - direct to Audacity or external de
There is another problem waiting at the output end of the process. There are very few sound file formats that will manage uncompressed, multi-channel shows. So File > Export may be an adventure. We tell people that Audacity Projects are useful for saving multi-channel shows. We also tell people that...

Re: Blank gaps when recording
You need to get painfully detailed. I plugged the digital output of my model 456 DictaPhone Personal Recorder into the USB connection of my Lenovo Model 26 laptop running Windows7 and Audacity 1.2.6.
Or whatever you have. That's the kind if detail we need.

Re: Audacity causes stream to break whilst scrolling browser
There's no shortage of hints and tricks for speeding up your Windows machine. If you have a million items on your desktop, Windows has to keep track of them all and everything slows down. Error Check and Defragment your hard drive. Audacity will not work into a badly fragmented drive and any drive o...

Re: Batch processing
Normalize is available in Chains. Normalize affects Left and Right individually. Amplify affects Left and Right together.

Re: Batch processing
Whatever Batch or Chain commands you've been able to find is it. It's not a process of sweeping a bunch of existing tools into the Chain container and go home. Each tool has to be carefully written to work within Chains and not break anything else. And yes, even though this is posted in the Audacity...

Is it big USB to little/mini USB, or USB-A to USB-B? My Blue Snowball is a "B" to my computer's "A"
