Re: How to have a booming voice like God with effects?
thats going to go a long way for neat effects But maybe not all the way to God-Voice. This is a very similar posting to the people wanting to be turned into announcer/presenters. You can make an announcing voice better, but you can't start with a 10 year old's voice and magically turn it into Don L...

Re: File name changes
Stop using illegal characters in your filenames. Upper and lower case letters, numbers, underscore, and dash. That's it. Any other character can cause problems, particularly if you need to move work between different computer types. Being compulsive and needing to move work between all the computer ...

AU File Numbering
Number .au files rationally. Creating .au files with irrational numbering makes disaster recovery confusing, difficult, or impossible. Koz Moderator note: this thread was originally in the "Adding Features To Audacity" section. I have moved the gist of this to the Pending Feature Requests ...

Re: Mixing sounds
duration had to be controlled So you're not in a simple production. You're trying to replace a full-on theatrical sound desk. Next time you quote somebody, put bracket quote bracket at the beginning of the text and bracket slash quote bracket at the end. Or surround the quote with <<<chicken beaks>...

Re: Preferences is greyed out
I see what the problem is. I tried playing the on-line tutorial and the presenter tells us he "got the song from http://www.newgrounds.com/. That's it. No other information. So what you should do is download one of the free tunes from there, open it in QuickTime Player and Command-I Info Panel....

Re: Levels too low, but peak volume is high
And please note that no matter what you do, you are remixing the character of the song and it's not going to sound the same. Louder and desirable, yes, but not the same. It's not like turning the volume control up. When I simulate the sound of the local NPR FM station, I use settings the the elves g...

All those little .au files
By what method are the Audacity 1.3 .au project files numbered? I know there must be some method, only because randomly numbering them (what it looks like) without collisions would be too much work.

Re: Memory Issues
I hope that's a typo.I have only 321G of actual memory being used
I would not have put my email address on a public forum -- unless, of course, it's fake. Shall I remove the posting and start over?

Re: Memory Issues
The messages suggest you're using Audacity 1.2. You need to stop doing that right away. Audacity 1.2 is no longer supported for any platform and can be profoundly unstable in Snow Leopard.
