Re: trouble w/ a dj mix

I think I'd start here: Windows comes out of the box now set for corporate sound conferencing. They threw in the towel on being a generic computer and many machines won't record entertainment performances without a little help. See if any of these settings affects you... http://forum.audacityteam.or...

Stereo Tone Illustration

Mac Mini 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo Tiger OS-X 10.4.11 Audacity 1.3.12 96000, 32-float. I just tried to perform a simple two tone generation and resistive mix into an illustration of what Stereo FM looks like if you don't filter the pilot tone. Snap right? I couldn't do it. Open Audacity. Generate > Ton...

Re: FM Stereo "noise" and its removal

The 19KHz signal peak is @ -42 dB. Which means there is some filtering going on, or you just have the show turned down. The pilot tone is maintained at -20dB compared to the peak FM signal (10%). And yes, what it would look like in Audacity is "thick" waves. And I can't seem to generate a...

Re: Clipping or Distortion on Vocal High Notes of Ripped Aud

You may just have encountered a situation where the default values in the tools aren't appropriate. Or your car is broken. At the dawn of recorded history, the volume levels of the digital services were chosen to avoid damage at all costs. Everybody had scars from the very narrow range of loudnesses...

Re: Clipping or Distortion on Vocal High Notes of Ripped Aud

Try this. Amplify (not Normalize) to -7dB instead of the default value of zero. That will put you much closer to the old sound standard for Music CDs and it might be a much better match to your other music.

Sounds fine to me. See what happens when you pull down and burn that Battle segment. I bet it sounds dreadful in the car.

The fifteen gold pins is probably the Compact DB-15 connector and that's how you connect your computer to a much larger monitor or display panel should you decide to do that. http://www.sourcingmap.com/vga-db15-pin-male-db15-pin-male-gender-adapter-converter-p-30752.html?utm_source=google&utm_me...

They don't all work. Newer computers make it harder and harder. Macs have never been able to do this without adding software.

Re: Putting mp3s togethor

And to complete the circle, when you get to the final show, Export a WAV in addition to the MP3. The perfect WAV file becomes your archive master of the show. Back it up to a second drive. As you go through your production, Save A Project under different names. Every ten minutes? Every twenty minute...
