That's scary. Mac FireFox can't see TIFFs?
Safari can see them.

Re: How to uncompress a file
Nikko, can I get you to start a new topic at the main forum page rather than piggy-backing on someone else's post. Copy your post and paste it. http://forum.audacityteam.org/ Scroll down until you get to the version of Audacity you have and then the computer type. Then New Topic. If this was a simpl...

Re: Mac Files to Windows
I can't open the graphics files. Just read the FORMAT: line. Any time you run music through Windows, it tries to use Windows Media and that's a compressed format. So that's the difference in file sizes. Data compression creates smaller music files at the expense of quality. I thought the data rate h...

Re: Lowering quality of music to save space question???
Audacity 1.3.12 takes care of all the Export File Management...at the export step. Picture 2.png if i lower the bit rate it makes the song sound terrible ....... in the old version there was an option to lower the kbps The kbps is the bitrate and it always makes the song sound bad. Re: Mac Files to Windows
Audacity does not have an INFO panel. It's one of the Feature Requests. Open the files in Mac QuickTime Player and Command-I INFO panel. You should get 44100, 16-bit, Stereo I do this all the time on multiple different computers. It does work, we just need to find out why it doesn't work for you. Th...

Don't you have to make one track Left and the other Right to do that?

And it's not the only problem. Audacity 1.2 can be profoundly unstable in Leopard or Snow Leopard.

Re: Bad sound after 'Export Multiple'
when I 'Export Multiple' the resulting files have a lot of interference/noise on them. We're missing the step where you tell us On What? How are you listening to the work? If you pull all the files into iTunes, they are converted to another format according to the iTunes Import Preferences. The con...

Re: Track Seemingly Slowed Down After Import
Chances are really good the track is in a format that Audacity doesn't recognize. You can use Super or Switch (download) to convert the track to WAV (not MP3) and edit with that, or you might be able to play them by installing the FFMpeg plugin from the Audacity download site. http://audacityteam.or...

Re: Clipping or Distortion on Vocal High Notes of Ripped Aud
The distortion in the singer’s voice seems to be modulated by the piano: when the piano note fades out the singers voice becomes distorted. Perfectly correct. But it's only distorted on the Music CD and only in the car. Play the CD anywhere else and it's fine -- or at least acceptable. We need to r...
