Unless you're in a mono show with a mono sound track and you pan a little. What happens then?

...USB port for data transfer... Did they suggest in the instructions what exactly goes down that USB port? The ads are suspiciously vague about a lot of things. Dig in the instructions and see what they say about connecting a computer. I do worry about the insistence that the device is four channe...

Re: The Vocal Remover.
It does remain that many of our posters want to do this with a mono show or a show that's been highly compressed or a show that's been highly produced. Those shows do not lend themselves to post production isolation/cancellation no matter how much math you throw at them. Now I'll sit back here and w...

Step one. Stop using Audacity 1.2. Download and install Audacity 1.3.12 from here... http://audacityteam.org/download/ You can have both versions on your machine, but only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 Projects will not open in 1.2. Now go back up there, download and install both the "lame&qu...

Re: Stereo Track is Silent???
I'm personally not a fan of mixing mono and stereo tracks in the same show. Audacity has a number of hidden rules about doing that and I don't know what they all are.
Audacity also has a strong recommendation that all the components of the show need to be in the same technical standard.

Re: Assistance cleaning up a short audiofile requested
but it is still not audible. It's audible, but it's not intelligible. Audacity tools all work on existing conversations or music. If there isn't a conversation in the track, or it's being covered up with tons of trash, then there are no tools to help you. Some people with problems similar to yours ...

Re: recording
Launch Audacity and when it arrives, click once inside the red record meters. They will wake up and meter your show before you go into full record to capture the show. That can be very handy when you have troubles getting the show into the computer. Yes, when you have the right channel without the l...

Re: How to save each track for itself?
I'd start with File > Export > Selection, and then select only one track. If that menu item isn't available to you, this would be a dandy time to upgrade to Audacity 1.3.12. http://audacityteam.org/download/ You can have both versions on your machine, but only use one at a time. Audacity 1.2 Project...

Re: recording
Audacity 1.2 wakes up from First Birthday in mono (left only). Change in Audacity Preferences and restart Audacity.

Re: Muffled audio
You might be able to leave some of those settings running to help get rid of the computer fan noise. It's not worth the additional complexity. Leave all those settings off and don't worry about it.
