Re: Blue Yeti USB Mic Issue
I couldn't find the area to post a new thread. Go to here... http://forum.audacityteam.org/ Scroll down until you get to the version of Audacity you have, and then more until you get to the computer you have, then click on it and New Topic. I would never use a USB microphone for a live gig. You giv...

Re: Jumping/tearing sound with export multiple
You might try AAC (iPod format). The specification doesn't make any mention of significant chunking or time division processing and it's possible they don't have this problem -- or can easily hide it. I believe you can export AAC with Audacity and the FFMpeg plugin. Now you know one of the reasons w...

MPEG1 Layer3 (MP3) does its compression magic in frames. http://www.mp3-converter.com/mp3codec/frames.htm You can't stop it. That's the way the compression algorithm works. You might be able to minimize it with software tricks, but the minute you go back to MP3 format, the damage will return. I wond...

Re: Static/distortion in segment of a recording
My PC should not have been doing anything significant during the recording. No, but it may have been. You should dig in the Win7 control panels and make sure the conferencing settings are turned off. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=41179&start=0&hilit=echo+cancellatio...

Re: Muffled audio
USB microphones have two important problems: You can't ever get any further than about ten feet from the computer (one USB or USB and extension), so if you have a noisy computer, that could be an interesting juggling act. You're stuck with the electronics inside the microphone. There's no shortage o...

Re: issues with File Magement or loss of data
The only way to solve that problem ... The other better way to solve the problem is not use Projects for critical work. Immediately export as a WAV file and at the earliest convenience, make a copy on backup media. the only time this might not work is if you're doing surveillance work and trying to...

Re: Creating Podcasts with Music and Voice Overs
Production and editing in a commercial environment follows the ten to one rule. One hour of finished show requires ten hours of editing. That's if everybody is on board and there are no errors or last-minute format changes. It's remarkably accurate whether you're editing video or audio. If anything ...

Re: aup 'open with' property greyed out with Acrobat
The system may know that the AUP file is in XML programming language. You can't make an Adobe PDF out of a computer program. You might try to rename the AUP file "aup.txt" and try that. In Windows you may need to force the system to show you file extensions. Hidden File Extensions -- Start...

Re: Stereo Track is Silent???
The bug is that I told Audacity to work in mono and I have a mono track and yet Audacity produced a stereo file against my explicit wishes. If I use tools in such a way that demands a stereo file, the tools should fail.
Stereo tools do not exist in a mono show.

Re: Stereo Track is Silent???
That's not what the poster said: When I sent the entire audacity file to another computer, and played it there, everything sounded fine and worked great. If there were a file missing, then that playback would have been damaged. The reason this wasn't answered in the first posting was the conditions ...
